Pomodo'more
We often encounter problems during work or study when we try to focus. The motivation to do a particular task is not sufficient to make you do the work. We often find that as time progresses, our effectiveness gradually fades away till we reach the point where we feel like procrastinating.
What is the Pomodoro Technique®?
The Pomodoro Technique® developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s can help us in this regard. As we all know, small steps eventually lead to achievement of the larger goal. This technique works on this idea. Also, this technique takes out time for you to relax your brain and hence encourages both logical and creative parts of your brain. We need not think about the big task we need to complete but focus on the small time intervals of work.
How is it done?
There are five basic steps to implementing the technique:
Who is it for?
This technique can be used by anyone with a large task at hand, e.g. for students to prepare well for their exams or for professionals to work on large and daunting projects or for homemakers to get their household chores done. Often the difficulty of a task prompts people to procrastinate indefinitely till the last minute, at which point it becomes a painful task. Using the Pomodoro Technique®, the individual can divide the time available into Pomodoro sessions or Pomodori and manage their time better.
